The Great Tours: Experiencing Medieval Europe

Explore the sights and sounds of 12 of Europe’s most
fascinating medieval cities. You’ll begin in beautiful Rothenburg,
then skip to Mdina and Rabat, take a peek at Palermo, York,
Avignon and Carcassonne, then on to bustling Barcelona,
Dubrovnik, Krakow, Prague, Bruges, and finally, vibrant Sienna.
The diversity of medieval societies comes to life as you visit
elaborate palaces, the striking homes of the rich, and the
grim tenements of the poor. Discovering historic architectural
sites, you’ll hear about those who lived there, learning how
they shaped political, religious and military history through the
ages. Kenneth R. Bartlett is a Renaissance historian, author and
professor at the University of Toronto.
