Friday, Dec. 4, 2 p.m. (Ashcroft movie theater) From behind-the-scenes to “off the beaten track,” we wrap this fascinating series with Petra’s archaeological sites rarely seen, including a look at home life in the Bedouin village where Dr. Steve’s team resided during his tenure on-site. In the process, we’ll discover what it’s like to live in someone else’s village, experiencing someone else’s culture, devoid of phones and internet. A step back, enjoyed. Friday, Nov. 6, 2 p.m. (Bradford movie theater) As archaeological investigations of Petra only began in the mid-1900s, many mysteries still lie buried. Oh, but what has been unearthed! And who better to reveal than Dr. Steve. Serving as an area supervisor of excavations occurring at Petra’s Temple of the Winged Lions in ‘92, he takes us behind the scenes of this free-standing religious and economic structure. 55 Bedouin Boy in Petra | Palimpsestlover | Retouched | CCBYSA4.0
