ON THINGS THAT MATTER:
When A Stranger Resides With You
With Rev. Roy Almquist & Rabbi Alan Fuchs
June 4, 7:30 p.m.
Strangers and sojourners have always had a special
place within the three faiths of Judaism, Christianity,
and Islam. The sacred texts of all three are clear
in the call to welcome and protect the foreigner
in your midst (Leviticus 19: 33-34). But it seems
there’s not a greater source of conflict between
the religious traditions and government
authority than this issue. What’s happened
to “Give me your tired, your poor...”?
Join us for a gracious discussion of this
contemporary challenge as fresh as the
evening news. Both the Rabbi and
Reverend are well-respected
Shannondell residents.
