Smyser Lis Quartet
August 12, 7:30 p.m.  
It’s our favorite clubhouse musicians  
Pete Smyser on guitar, Ted Lis on sax, and 
more recently John Swana on trombone!  
The three are joined, on this evening,  
by Madison Rast on bass for a special  
concert celebrating 20 years since Pete  
and Ted first started entertaining 
residents at Shannondell. Might we hear  
As Time Goes By? Call it a request gents.  
Minas Quartet    
August 5, 7:30 p.m.  
An evocative and imaginative evening of Bossa Nova and  
original music, Minas blends Brazilian guitar and jazz piano 
with beautiful vocals and poetry to create a “transportive”  
performance. Headed up by husband-wife duo  
Orlando Haddad and Patricia King, this renowned  
ensemble has performed in The Kimmel Center,  
Lincoln Center, and Kennedy Center.
